Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, a Kachwaha Rajput this place is said to be the capital of the state of Rajasthan. He was the one who had a lot of penchant for not just astronomy, mathematics but also for astro-physics. He was one dynamic ruler, and therefore took up the responsibility of developing Jaipur.
This place is also called as "The Pink City". The reason behind it is that when the Prince of Wales was to visit Jaipur in 1853, it was in his honor, that the entire city was painted pink. The City Palace is the one which was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. It has attractive and also the most mind-blowing gardens and other courtyards too. This palace has many wonders namely the Mukut Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple, Maharani's Palace, Chandra Mahal and also the City Palace Museum.
The next on the list is the Amber fort. This is the one which is known to reflect the art of Mughals as well as the Hindus. This complex will give you a sight of palaces, halls, gardens, galleries, huge doors and also paintings on precious stones. This is all made up from red stone and white marble in 1592.
