Bundi city is located in the eastern part of Hadoti region in the state of Rajasthan. It is a very small city which is also known as blue city. This city is known for its traditional charm. It is situated at a very serene place that is far away from the crowd. A lot of tourists which includes both domestic as well as foreign visit this beautiful city. The city is named after Meena Chief Bunda. The city is famous for its miniature paintings. As per 2001 census the city is of 88,000 inhabitants.

It is a very small palace which is also known as summer palace. If you want to visit this palace then you will have to take prior permission of the DM of the city because it is still been controlled by the royal family.

Bundi city is one of the famous city which is known more as the 'The Bundi School' authentic school of painting. In the Bundi fort you will get to see some magnificent paintings in Chitrashala. The paintings are so wonderful that you can compare it with any of the paintings around the world.
There are 32 stepwells in this city that was once used as water supply for the purpose of washing and drinking. These wells were built in the year 1699 by Mother Queen of Bundi. These wells were donated afterwards to the public for there well being. One of the most wonderful stepwells that you will get to see is Rani Jiki Barol. This well is a great example of Jain and Hindu architecture.

Bundi city is connected better to all the important cities of the state of Rajasthan which includes Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer, Agra etc. you can take help of the government buses to reach this city. From Jaipur you can reach this city easily and distance between the two cities is 206 km. you can reach the city by train as it is well connected to Delhi, Kota, Chittogarh, Neemach.
